Ridge is well known for producing world-class Zinfandel. In keeping with a natural theme, Ridge has built a sustainable winery, made of compacted rice straw bales. The walls covering the bales are made from a simple mixture of clay from the vineyard, sand, and straw.
Surrounded by beautiful 115-year-old vines, our Lytton Springs Winery stands as one of the most unique sites in all of Sonoma County’s wine country. A natural extension of Ridge’s commitment to sustainable vineyard and winery practices, this remarkable facility (built of straw bales and vineyard clay, and primarily solar-powered) is a wonderful environment in which to experience our exceptional single-vineyard wines.
