Phil Kline's Unsilent Night

Join us for Phil Kline’s Unsilent Night, an unforgettable evening where music meets movement and the audience becomes the orchestra. Part sound sculpture, part community stroll, this immersive experience transforms downtown into a glowing river of sound. Participants carry phones, speakers, or good old-fashioned boom boxes playing one of four musical tracks that, together, create a surround-sound celebration in motion.

Gather at the Plaza with fellow music lovers, and walk the festive streets under the twinkle of holiday lights. Bring your boom box, mobile device, or bluetooth speaker to amplify the music as we stroll through town! The event, sponsored by the CUBE Foundation for Arts and Culture, lasts about 45 minutes and is free, family-friendly, and joyfully unsilent.

IMPORTANT DETAILS
Prior to gathering, download the mobile app or one of four tracks to your device. Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Healdsburg Plaza for help downloading the app or accessing the music. The group will begin walking promptly at 7:00 p.m.; please dress warmly for the outdoor event.

ABOUT THE MUSIC
“Unsilent Night” is an original composition by Phil Kline, written specifically to be heard outdoors in the month of December. It takes the form of a street promenade in which the audience becomes the performer. Each participant gets one of four tracks of music in the form of a cassette, CD, or Mp3. Together all four tracks comprise “Unsilent Night”.  Let’s fill the night with joyful noise!
