Russian River Adventures was created in 2001, the first year of a new century. Founder Larry Laba had designed and was producing the SOAR Inflatable Canoe since 1993. Having moved to Healdsburg in 1998, he felt the pull of the seldom-visited Russian River downstream of Healdsburg. No roads, no houses, no buildings. Clean, fresh abundant water coming into the Russian River from Dry Creek just downstream from the launch, it was ideal. SOAR canoes, built for the rigors of remote rivers in far-off lands, would now convey tens of thousands of people safely through Northern California Wine Country.
Laba is a 40-year veteran and passionate river-rat who loves sharing his home. He has assembled a team of enthusiastic women and men here to provide you with everything for safe, fun, self-guided and self-paced outdoor adventure.
