Howard Ashman and Alan Menken gave the world this camp classic in 1982. They based musical (loosely) on the low-budget 1960 black comedy film The Little Shop of Horrors, with Menken’s score featuring spectacular music: early 1960s-style rock and roll, doo-wop, and early Motown. A deviously delicious Broadway and Hollywood sci-fi smash musical, Little Shop of Horrors has devoured the hearts of theater-goers for over 30 years.
